Lives and Works in Lausanne, Switzerland
Michael Rampa discovered the art of Giotto, Turner and Balthus at secondary school. After meeting Balthus, in 1998, who believes that painting cannot be learned in school, Michael Rampa became an autodidact, researching his craft in ancient texts and gaining vast practical experience in Switzerland and abroad. After a number of years spent in Italy and Great Britain, his native lands, Michael Rampa returned to Lausanne in 2004.
